15,000 new traps to stop fruit fly in its tracks

Nearly 15,000 additional fruit fly traps are being deployed across South Australian backyards in outbreak areas as part of the continued fight against fruit fly. As reported by the Department of Primary Industries and Regions (PIRSA) in June, the traps are in addition to the state’s existing 7,500 fruit fly trapping network, which included an extra 3,200 monitoring traps deployed since December 2019.
